The world's first Chinese Zodiac stamp museum will be officially opened in Yuhan hall, Shantang historical district
Suzhou Zodiac Stamp Museum, also known as "China Post Stamp Museum · Zodiac stamp branch", is the world's first museum with the theme of zodiac stamps. After more than a year of intensive preparation, the museum has entered the trial operation stage, and will officially open in the morning of World Museum Day (May 18). At that time, important leaders at all levels of the city and district will solemnly attend the opening ceremony.
Suzhou Zodiac stamp museum is based on the zodiac stamp products donated by Mr. Zhou Zhihua (former deputy secretary of Suzhou municipal Party committee), who is a member of all China Philatelic Federation. It is a special museum for collecting, displaying and using Zodiac stamps, researching and disseminating Zodiac culture and philately. The museum contains all the Chinese Zodiac stamps and some Chinese Zodiac stamp products issued by more than 100 countries and regions on five continents since Japan issued its first Chinese Zodiac stamp in 1950. The post office is located on the upper and lower floors of the hall, and visitors can deliver letters directly to the hall.
The establishment of Suzhou Zodiac stamp museum will provide a good place for stamp collectors and researchers of zodiac culture to visit, appreciate, learn and study. At the same time, it also adds new connotation to the cultural tourism of Shantang Historical District, which will become a new highlight of Shantang tourism.
